About Penelope
Penelope is a Certified Aromatherapist, Licensed Massage Therapist and Licensed Esthetician with over 30 years of experience using natural healing to help people with their fight against pain. |
Penelope raised three daughters in South Florida, home not only to beautiful stretches of sandy beaches, but also to abundant mosquitoes and tiny biting midges, known locally as “sandflies" and as “no-see’ums.” A caring mom, Penelope was determined to provide relief for her daughters’ constant bites using homeopathic and natural remedies. As a certified Aromatherapist, she was comfortable using essential oils to promote physical and emotional health.
After months of research and testing, Penelope’s “secret blend” kept bugs off her girls for four hours, and worked great as an after-bite as well. The formula was given to a few friends to try, and soon they were telling their friends, and a company was born. Today, we are a true family company and Penelope’s natural bug repellant formula is famously known as Iguana Oil (though there is no iguana in the formula). Over 30,000 bottles have been sold in less than 5 years. |
Then a second challenge presented itself. Penelope’s 18-year-old daughter was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), an autoimmune disease that causes muscle spasms and continuous chronic hip and back pain. Her suffering made it nearly impossible to sit in college classes or work at her job. For months, Penelope dedicated endless hours to research and specially formulated a natural pain remedy that would give her all-day and all-night pain relief. The result of her dedication is Penelope’s Dead Sea Salt Remedy. Leaving the remedy on for 30 minutes to an hour gave her daughter up to 8 hours of pain relief. She could work a full day and, with another evening application, sleep through the night without pain. She also uses her mother’s therapy oils and skin products without worrying about drug interaction or skin allergies associated with her autoimmune disease.
